Kim Hobbs
CEO & Co-Founder
With a career in senior leadership in law firms, Kim saw at first hand how ineffective the courts are in deterring people from a life of crime*. Deciding that passively standing by was not an option, Kim determined to launch a befriending/resettlement and advocacy service to prisoners and to ex-offenders already in the community. In 2013 Kim gave up his career to begin volunteering at HMP The Mount in Hertfordshire. Cornergate Foundation was established shortly afterwards. Since then he has supported numerous guys as they look forward to release from prison, delivered training to prisoners in job-hunting, supported homeless people in housing applications, assisted guys and girls through drug and alcohol detox and spoken up for individuals through the court process and in other family and welfare adjudications. Kim passionately believes that society must welcome the returning offender so that they are offered the best chance to resettle and leave crime behind for good, for the sake of the offender, his/her family and for society in general.
* current government statistics tell us that nearly half of offenders overall will reoffend within twelve months of release from prison.
